Peonies Fine Flowers ensures that every flower arrangement or gift ordered with us is beautifully made and hand-delivered to the recipient from our local Vancouver flower shop. We make every effort to personally take care of your order and ensure that it is delivered in a timely manner and to your specifications. To that end, we ask that you make certain that any special requests or unique delivery information, including apartment or basement suite information, is entered in the Special Instructions field during checkout. We strive to honour any wishes made by our customers. As our shop is located at 172 – 5489 Byrne Road, BC, we are able to personally deliver to all areas of the Lower Mainland including Vancouver, Burnaby, Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Richmond, Delta, Ladner, Tsawwassen, Surrey, White Rock, Langley, Aldergrove, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge.
Same Day Delivery
All of our gifts and arrangements can be delivered on the same day that it is ordered as long as your request is submitted before noon Pacific weekdays. Any orders that are received after this time will be delivered on the following day.
Specific Delivery Time Requests
Unfortunately, due to the number of deliveries we have per day, we are not able to accept specific delivery time requests. An example of this would be requesting delivery at 11am. We are however able to deliver within a two hour time frame, or in the morning, afternoon or before a certain time. Typically, we can fulfill requests such as deliver before noon, or deliver between 1 and 3pm. All of our deliveries are made during the normal business hours of 9 am to 5pm. To have your specific delivery time requests included with your order, please make sure that it is included within the Special Instructions field during checkout. We will make every effort to honour your requests. If you have any questions about timed delivery, please contact us and we will make every effort to accommodate what you would like to see happen with your delivery.
Should you placing an order during special peak periods and holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Mother’s Day, or Thanksgiving please understand that Peonie’s Fine Flowers will not be able to guarantee specific time requests at these busy times. We could however, specify a morning or afternoon delivery. We request that you place your order at least two days before the actual date during these holiday or special occasion times, so that we can better organize the delivery schedule to meet your needs and serve you better.
Delivery to Apartments or Condo
As part of our policy, we always get in touch with recipients who reside in condominiums, apartment buildings or gated communities, so we can determine the most convenient time for us to make the delivery and also to ascertain if any special permission is required to enter the building or community area. This is a necessary step we take to ensure that deliveries are made successfully when requested. As such, it is essential that we have the proper contact phone number in order to make these delivery arrangements. The only exceptions we can make are for those whose buildings have a concierge, reception area, or where gifts can be left with a trusted neighbour.
Delivery to Hospitals
Peonies Fine Flowers delivers personally to all of the local Vancouver hospitals, nursing homes and care facilities. When placing the order, please be sure to include whatever information you may have about the intended recipient, including their name, the hospital name, phone number and the recipient’s room number. We will also contact the hospital for you to ensure the room number is correct and whether they are in a condition where they are able to accept flowers.
We will make every effort to deliver your gift, as long as it is in accordance with the procedures of the hospital or nursing home. Many private hospitals and nursing homes do not allow personal deliveries to be made to those in their care and if this is the situation, we will be certain to make delivery to the reception area, or nursing station instead .
Recipient Not Home
When our delivery drivers arrive at a location, it can happen that the intended recipient is not home or available to receive the delivery. If this should happen, there are a number of things we may do and will often take the following actions:
Call the recipient to schedule a more appropriate delivery time.
Leave a note on their door to contact the florist to arrange a more appropriate delivery time.
Leave the arrangement in a covered and secured area near the door, as would be found on a porch, in a garage, or inside another accessible entrance.
Leave the gift with a trusted neighbour, as well as leave a note upon the recipient’s door, advising that we have done so.
Unfortunately, there may be times when particular flowers or containers are not available for our use at the time they are ordered. If this should happen, we will always notify you. We will then make every effort to find a suitable replacement that will meet the same levels of quality and value as the original, and one that maintains the standards set for style, theme and color. We only substitute items of equal or greater value as the original, never less. Our designers take creative licensing with this type of work and often, create even more fabulous flower arrangements when these substitutions occur. Extreme Weather and Inaccessible Locations
Sometimes, the exact date and time of delivery cannot be met due to extenuating circumstances, which may be beyond our control, as in times of extreme weather conditions. If it should happen that your gift cannot be delivered as arranged due to weather conditions, an inability to gain access to the delivery site, special order considerations or delays, Peonie’s Fine Flowers will make every effort to contact you, the sender or the recipient and alert them about the delay.
Unless you request otherwise, in any situation where we cannot deliver your gift on time, in the manner you requested, we will then reschedule your delivery for the next available delivery date and time.
